VFW Post 2133 Commander Emil Soltesz and
Quartermaster Joe Eklich Sponsoring Post 2133 adopted HHC 237th
BSB and HHC and FSC 112th Engineer Companies. The Picnics were
put on the weekend of July 12th & 13th, 2008. Approximately 900
military and family members were present for both days.
The total cost to put on this event was approximately
$6,000.00 for both day. $2,500.00 came from National
Headquarters, $1,000.00 came from Ohio Charities. and the
other $2,500.00 came from VFW Post 2133 and the National Guard
itself. Donations also came from the USO, and the Girl Scouts.
The Family Readiness Groups were instrumental in getting things
co-coordinated and set up. Also a special thank goes out to
NASA for the use of their picnic facility. What a fantastic
place for a family outing.
