Pizza Contest Proceeds Donated to VAVS
Riding the ripples of the "stone in the pond" effects of the Tipp City Masonic Clock Dedication of March 15th, Tipp City Independent Voice Publisher "Long John" Kessler is shown here (far right) presenting a check for $225 to VFW Post Surgeon and Service Officer Larry Lewis (left) andVAVS Representative Bob Critell (center).
The funds were raised at the "Best Pizza In Tipp" competition, held at the Hotel Gallery Banquet Room at the corner of Second and Main Streets, Tipp City immediately following the clock dedication. Domino's Pizzeria and Fox's Pizza Gallery donated over $400 worth of pizza for the competition.Our congratulations go to the winner, Fox's Pizza. The funds collected will be distributed to hospitalized Veterans who lack the wherewithal to afford basic necessities.
The Independent Voice, a veteran-owned and operated publication, supports the local posts of the VFW, American Legion and other veterans' Organizations in their efforts to welcome our veterans home once again. The Independent Voice wishes to extend our gratitude to the local VFW posts, the local American Legion posts, Mr. Steve Watson of the Hotel Gallery, Domino's Pizzeria, Fox's Pizza Gallery and all those who took the time to participate in this worthy cause.
